Crumpler was born in a Melbourne backyard garage in 1995, when the founder decided he needed a hardwearing bag that could be comfortably worn while riding a bike. Sourcing tough fabrics like truck tarpaulin and seat belts, Crumpler’s signature Messenger bag was created. Crumpler’s bags are the ultimate in style and functionality – resilient and cool, with quirky designs and a lifetime guarantee.
The design for this Crumpler store is based on the philosophy of urban heritage. Black milk crates are stacked up at the shopfront, evoking memories of that essential household item from the ‘90s, used for both storing records and impromptu seating. Oversized red signage at the front presents the idea of a wax seal – another symbol of a past era. Exposed brick and graffiti wallpapers run along the interior walls with products neatly displayed on a pole system, giving a sense of order and reliability in a chaotic urban environment.
